Practical details.

Faculty of Law is an independent initiative by Jonas Hertner.

The request form prepares an email on your device. It does not submit or save your entries. Send the draft through your own email provider; Jonas handles correspondence through his Microsoft 365 team inbox. Requests do not reserve appointments.

Thoughts submitted here appear publicly and anonymously, subject to editorial review. Jonas can remove them from public view. A necessary browser cookie remembers your Agree or Reject responses for up to a year. Clearing it removes that browser’s ability to change earlier responses. Shared counts describe browser responses, not verified people.

Public thoughts and responses are stored in the site’s Cloudflare D1 database without an automatic deletion date. Secret-keyed network digests limit abuse. They become inactive within two days and are cleared on a later vote or submission; the application does not store raw IP addresses. Removed thoughts remain in the private editor for review and possible restoration. For removal enquiries, contact the address below.

The fortnightly letter uses Resend for confirmation emails, confirmed subscriber addresses, delivery and unsubscribe preferences. A confirmation link expires after 23 hours and requires a deliberate confirmation. The site keeps pending addresses in its private D1 database; expired requests are removed on a later subscription request once seven further days have passed. Separate consent records retain a secret-keyed address identifier, consent wording version, confirmation time and provider contact identifier without an automatic deletion date. Each edition contains an unsubscribe link. Subscription information is never part of the public thoughts collection.

No advertising trackers or analytics cookies. The hosting provider processes technical request data. External sites have their own terms. Please keep confidential case details out of requests; legal advice and substantial project work are agreed separately.
